Cabinet Minister Tino Machakaire has called for Victor “Coach Rambo” Kazembe to be recognised and rewarded for his bravery during the recent Budiriro recovery operation.
Machakaire said he missed the tragic incident as he was attending Cabinet but later followed the events and was deeply moved by Kazembe’s actions.
He praised Coach Rambo for risking his own life to recover the bodies, bringing dignity to the deceased and closure to grieving families.
The minister said he will appeal to President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa to honour Kazembe, suggesting that a piece of land and a few cattle would be a fitting reward for his sacrifice and service.
“Zimbabwe is proud of you,” Machakaire said, applauding Kazembe’s courage, selflessness and commitment to humanity.
