Zimbabwe has committed US$1 million to support Africa’s fight against Ebola outbreaks, reinforcing regional efforts to strengthen disease prevention and response systems.
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Amon Murwira announced that the funding will be channelled through the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
The contribution is aimed at supporting continental health initiatives focused on outbreak surveillance, emergency response, and public health preparedness.
Government also confirmed that emergency preparedness measures have already been activated across Zimbabwe to help prevent and respond to any potential Ebola outbreak.
The move highlights Zimbabwe’s commitment to regional cooperation in tackling public health threats and safeguarding communities across the continent.
