The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested two men in Harare’s Msasa Industrial area for allegedly manufacturing and distributing illicit alcoholic beverages.
The suspects, identified as Gan Chen (52) and Peng Yujun (52), are facing multiple charges related to the illegal operation.
According to police, the charges involve alleged violations of the Harmful Liquids Act, Food Standards and Labelling Regulations, the Factory and Works Act, Environmental Management regulations, and the Shop Licensing Act.
Authorities recovered several substances described as purported vodka, spirits, and wine during the raid.
Police also seized equipment allegedly used in the manufacturing process, including bottling machines, a distillation tanker, a boiler, a separator, and other related machinery.
The ZRP has confirmed that investigations into the matter are continuing.
