Abigael Kendi, a 19-year-old Kenyan woman, has opened up about living with a rare congenital condition affecting her reproductive system and daily life.

According to reports, Kendi was born with two uteri, two cervixes, two vaginas, and one kidney — a condition linked to abnormalities in reproductive system development.

She shared her story during an interview with BBC journalist Asha Juma, revealing that she has undergone seven surgeries in attempts to restore a normal menstrual cycle, but without success.

Kendi also said she experiences severe pain twice every month despite never menstruating, due to complications caused by the condition.

Doctors reportedly diagnosed her during her teenage years after she was hospitalized with severe abdominal swelling and difficulty urinating. She is currently receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.

Despite facing emotional, financial, and social challenges, including stigma and misunderstanding, Kendi says she remains determined to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.
