The Zimbabwe Republic Police has released the names of the eight people who died in the tragic road accident that occurred at Deka Bridge along Deka Road in Hwange on May 23, 2026.
The victims were identified as Tizani Mbozi (51), Getrude Nyoni (62), Jane Masuku (72), Telia Mwale (52), Fungai Shumba (40), Ngonidzashe Mandinyenya (37), Thomas Muzamba (46), and four-year-old Keila Nduba.
Most of the victims were residents of Victoria Falls, while Thomas Muzamba was from Chinotimba and Keila Nduba from Mkhosana.
Police said the identities were released following formal identification procedures and notification of next of kin.
The ZRP also extended condolences to the affected families and urged motorists to exercise caution and prioritize road safety on the country’s highways.
