Zimbabwe’s men’s 4x400m relay team has made history after winning a stunning gold medal at the African Athletics Championships held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
The quartet of Thandazani Ndlovu, Gerren Muwishi, Dennis Hove, and Leeford Zuze delivered a powerful performance to outrun some of Africa’s top sprinting nations on a rain-soaked final evening of competition.
The victory marks Zimbabwe’s first-ever gold medal in the men’s 4x400m relay at the continental championships.
Competing on a wet and demanding track, the Zimbabwean team combined speed, teamwork, and tactical discipline to secure the historic win.
The result also came as a surprise to many athletics fans after highly favored Botswana failed to reach the podium.
Zimbabwe’s triumph has already sparked celebrations among sports supporters across the country.
