The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested five suspects in Harare after intercepting a large consignment of unregistered human and veterinary medicines in Belvedere.
The operation was carried out on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Showground parking area where police say the suspects were found with various illegal pharmaceutical products.
Authorities identified the suspects as Vanessa Mudokwenyi, Cheneta Zifodya, Jack Muchineuta, Tonderai Veremu, and Collen Magama.
Police recovered a wide range of medicines and medical supplies, including veterinary injections, antibiotics, vaccines, flu tablets, hypodermic needles, and cardiovascular drugs.
Among the seized products were Ashotoxy injections, Penstrirect cattle injections, Oxytetracycline injections, Ceftriaxone Sodium injections, Tetanus vaccines, Amoxicillin tablets, Calcigard Retard, and Enalapril Maleate.
Investigators say the recovered products had an estimated street value of US$2,697.
The ZRP says investigations into the illegal pharmaceutical network are continuing.
