The High Court has officially finalised the divorce between businessman Wicknell Chivayo and Sonja Louise Madzikanda, bringing their highly public legal dispute to an end.
The settlement, granted by Justice Tsanga, includes a US$5 million maintenance package together with a structured parenting plan.
Of the total amount, US$2.2 million has already been paid, while the remaining US$2.8 million is due within 30 days.
The funds are set to support the couple’s children, with Chivayo expected to cover all expenses for the first 12 months while Madzikanda establishes an investment portfolio.
The court granted primary custody to Madzikanda, while Chivayo will have one week of access per month, weekends, and alternating holidays.
He is also required to personally care for the children during his allocated time.
Any future disputes must first go through mediation or legal representatives before returning to court, while the issue of asset division will be handled separately.
Both parties will cover their own legal costs.
