An anti-illegal migration group, March and March, together with other organisations, brought traffic in KuGompo City to a complete standstill during a protest.
The demonstration was sparked by viral videos and photos circulating on social media showing Chief Solomon Ogbonna Eziko being crowned as the Igwe Ndigbo of KuGompo City.
The coronation triggered strong backlash from protest groups, who opposed the event and staged mass action that disrupted traffic and daily movement in the area.
The incident has since fueled wider debate on migration, community leadership, and cultural representation in South Africa.
