Bona Chikore, the daughter of the late former President Robert Mugabe, has been appointed deputy chairperson of the newly constituted board of EmpowerBank.
The appointment follows the announcement of a seven-member board by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Tino Machakaire.
According to Statutory Instrument 132 of 2026, issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary Solomon Mhlanga, the newly appointed board will serve a four-year term.
William Chaitezvi will lead the board as chairperson, working alongside Mrs. Chikore as deputy chairperson. Other appointed members include Margaret Mupfiga and additional board representatives.
The new board is expected to guide EmpowerBank in strengthening youth empowerment initiatives and expanding financial support for young entrepreneurs across Zimbabwe.
