War veteran Blessed Runesu Geza, widely known as Cde Bombshell, has died in exile in South Africa after battling cancer. His family confirmed that he passed away on the morning of 6 February 2026 at a cardio hospital in South Africa.

In a statement released by the family, relatives expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing him as a hero whose contributions will be remembered. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our hero Cde Blessed Runesu Geza,” the statement read.

The family indicated that funeral arrangements are currently being made and that further details will be communicated in due course. They appealed to the public to remain patient and to rely only on official communication from a designated family representative.

They also issued a warning to Zimbabweans to disregard any fundraising appeals circulating in his name, emphasizing that no such initiatives have been authorized by the family.
