Air Zimbabwe has announced plans to acquire six new aircraft over the next three years as part of a major fleet renewal programme. The ambitious expansion, outlined in the national airline’s strategic plan, is expected to cost approximately US$775.5 million.
The planned aircraft purchases are aimed at modernising the airline’s ageing fleet while strengthening its operational capacity on both regional and international routes. Management says the investment will support improved reliability, efficiency, and competitiveness as Air Zimbabwe works to restore its position in the aviation market.
The move signals renewed efforts to rebuild the national carrier and enhance air connectivity for Zimbabwe, with the fleet upgrade forming a key pillar of the airline’s long-term recovery and growth strategy.
