The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has opened an urgent investigation after a shocking and graphic video showing the brutal assault of a minor went viral on social media. The footage, circulated widely on Thursday, shows a woman violently attacking a child whose hands and legs appear to be tied, prompting widespread anger and demands for immediate action.
In a statement issued late on 20 November 2025, the ZRP confirmed they are fully aware of the deeply troubling video and strongly condemned the “inhumane and degrading treatment” inflicted on the child. The police stressed that such acts of cruelty are a direct violation of the country’s child protection laws and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
According to authorities, detectives have already begun efforts to identify the woman seen in the video and locate the place where the abuse occurred. The ZRP has assured the nation that they are taking the matter seriously and will ensure that the law takes its full course once the perpetrator is apprehended.
Police further pledged to continue updating the public as the investigation unfolds, urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
The video has reignited national conversations about child safety, domestic abuse, and the urgent need for community vigilance to protect minors.
