ZimDancehall artist Reginald Mano, better known as Ras Pompy, has been granted bail pending appeal by the High Court, bringing temporary relief to the celebrated chanter following his conviction by the Magistrate’s Court.

The decision came after his legal representative, Dumisani Mthombeni, successfully argued for his release while awaiting the outcome of his appeal. The High Court agreed to the application but imposed strict bail conditions to ensure compliance and accountability.

As part of the conditions, Ras Pompy is required to deposit US$300 with the Clerk of Court at the Harare Magistrates Court. He must remain at his previously declared residential address until the appeal is finalized. Additionally, he has been ordered to report every Friday between 6 AM and 6 PM at Matapi Police Station.

To further secure his compliance, the court directed Ras Pompy to surrender his passport to the Clerk of Court, effectively restricting international travel until the case is concluded.

The news of Ras Pompy’s bail has stirred reactions among fans and the entertainment community, many of whom expressed relief and optimism about his legal battle. Known for his energetic performances and hit tracks, the young ZimDancehall star has remained a beloved figure in the genre since his teenage years.

As he awaits the outcome of his appeal, Ras Pompy’s supporters remain hopeful that justice will prevail and that the artist will soon return fully to the stage to continue inspiring the youth through his music.
