The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has issued a traffic advisory and announced several road closures ahead of Travis Scott’s highly anticipated concert at FNB Stadium this Saturday.

The closures, which began this afternoon, are expected to continue throughout the weekend to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance public safety during the event.

Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus World Tour Hits Johannesburg

The multi-award-winning U.S. rapper Travis Scott is bringing his Circus Maximus World Tour to South Africa, with Johannesburg’s iconic FNB Stadium set to host thousands of fans for what promises to be one of the biggest international concerts of the year.

This performance marks Scott’s first show in South Africa, and anticipation is running high among music lovers across the region.

Road Closures and Traffic Advisory

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla confirmed that multiple road closures are in effect around the stadium precinct to accommodate heavy traffic and ensure crowd safety.

“Road closures have been implemented to manage traffic flow and minimize congestion in and around FNB Stadium,” said Fihla.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance, use alternative roads, and arrive early if attending the concert. Public transport users are also encouraged to make use of designated drop-off and pick-up zones.

Safety and Crowd Management

The JMPD, together with event organizers and emergency services, has deployed additional officers to monitor traffic, manage parking, and assist concertgoers. Security personnel will be on-site to ensure a safe and orderly event experience.

Fans are reminded to follow all safety protocols, keep valuables secure, and remain patient amid increased traffic volumes expected throughout the weekend.
