The Motoko community of Kumahaka, Zimbabwe, has been left reeling in shock and outrage after one of their own was allegedly shot dead by his Chinese employers following a dispute over unpaid wages.

According to local sources, the victim — whose identity has not yet been officially released — reportedly approached his employers demanding his outstanding salary. Instead of resolving the issue peacefully, the confrontation turned violent, resulting in the man being shot and later dumped in a remote area.

 Body Discovered, Suspects Arrested

Authorities confirmed that the victim’s body was discovered a few hours later, leading to an immediate investigation by local law enforcement.
Reports indicate that five suspects, believed to be Chinese nationals connected to the company, were apprehended shortly after the incident.

Community members have since gathered in protest, calling for justice and accountability, with many demanding that foreign employers operating in Zimbabwe adhere to labour and human rights laws.

Public Reaction

The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with citizens expressing anger on social media platforms and urging the government to take decisive action.
Many have also called for stricter regulation of foreign-owned companies operating in rural areas, where reports of worker mistreatment and exploitation have been on the rise.

Call for Justice

Community leaders from Motoko have condemned the brutal killing, describing it as an act of “pure inhumanity” and vowing to ensure that justice is served.
Police investigations are ongoing, and more details are expected to be released once the victim’s family has been formally notified.
