Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has urged South Africans not to take the law into their own hands amid ongoing debates and tensions surrounding illegal immigration.
Speaking during an online global service, he warned that xenophobia and mob actions have never produced positive outcomes, citing historical examples including conflicts involving Ghana and Nigeria, the breakup of Yugoslavia, and the ethnic violence in Rwanda during the 1990s.
The cleric encouraged citizens to channel their concerns through government institutions rather than targeting foreign nationals living in the country.
He emphasized that lasting peace and prosperity are achieved through lawful processes and adherence to godly principles rather than acts of mob justice.
Pastor Chris called on communities to remain united and allow authorities to address immigration challenges within the framework of the law.
