The Arsenal Fans Harare Chapter has officially received police clearance to hold an end-of-season parade and celebration in central Harare on May 31.
According to a letter from Harare Central District Police dated May 22, supporters have been granted permission to march from Harare Gardens through Herbert Chitepo Street and Prince Edward Street before gathering at Alexandra Sports Club from 2PM to 5PM.
The celebrations are planned to mark Arsenal’s first league title in 22 years, with fans also hoping to celebrate a possible UEFA Champions League triumph if the club defeats Paris Saint-Germain in the final on May 30.
The approval letter was signed by Superintendent S. Mbimbi on behalf of the Officer Commanding Police.
Excitement is already building among local Arsenal supporters as Harare prepares for what could become one of the biggest football fan celebrations in recent years.
