Sir Wicknell Chivayo’s ex-wife, Sonja Madzikanda, and her mother, Tabitha Madzikanda, have been remanded in custody until tomorrow pending a bail application.
The two are facing cyberbullying charges linked to the alleged publication of AI-generated images showing businessman Wicknell Chivayo alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
According to court proceedings, the matter was brought before the courts following allegations that the digitally created images were circulated online.
Sonja and Tabitha Madzikanda are expected to return to court tomorrow for the hearing of their bail application.
The case continues to attract significant public attention as investigations proceed.
