A Kwekwe magistrate has sentenced 31-year-old Blessing Mutangi to an effective 75 years in prison following convictions linked to the abuse of seven children in the Mbizo 1 suburb.
Mutangi, a local barber and content creator known as “Mama Bless,” was arrested on April 21, 2026, after reports emerged concerning his conduct toward minors in the community.
Court proceedings revealed that the victims included five boys and two girls, all under the age of 12.
The court initially handed down a total sentence of 120 years, but 45 years were suspended, leaving Mutangi to serve an effective 75-year prison term.
The case has sent shockwaves through the Kwekwe community where Mutangi was a well-known figure.
Despite the lengthy sentence, he is expected to return to court on May 8, 2026, to face additional charges in a separate pending matter.
The ruling has been welcomed by many community members calling for justice and stronger protection for children.
