Tragedy has struck along the Harare–Nyamapanda Road following a horrific road traffic accident involving a luxury coach that has claimed at least 14 lives.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that the crash occurred on May 5, 2026, around 1300 hours near the Suswe area at the 176 kilometre peg.
The Malawi-bound bus was travelling from Qhebeqha, South Africa, carrying 63 passengers at the time of the incident.
Emergency services responded swiftly, with injured survivors transported to Mutoko District Hospital and Kotwa District Hospital for urgent medical care.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
The incident has sparked widespread concern over road safety, with calls for stricter regulation of long-distance transport operators.
Reports circulating on social media have also linked the bus company to previous fatal accidents in the region, intensifying public scrutiny.
