The High Court in Pretoria has reinstated an order to freeze the assets of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, preventing him from selling, transferring, or concealing any of his holdings.
The ruling is part of an ongoing legal dispute between Chivayo and his former wife, Louise Sonja Madzikanda.
The order covers a wide range of assets, including bank accounts at major South African financial institutions, real estate properties, and business interests.
Authorities and regulatory bodies have been notified to ensure that no unauthorized transactions take place while the matter is before the courts.
The asset freeze is a temporary legal measure designed to preserve financial holdings until a final decision is made.
As a result, Chivayo’s ability to access or move assets is significantly restricted for now.
A follow-up court hearing has been scheduled for 15 June 2026, where all parties are expected to present arguments on whether the freeze should remain in place.
