The Alexandra Magistrates Court has heard that the victim in the shooting case involving Bellarmine Mugabe and Tobias Matonhodze was allegedly paid R250,000 to remain silent, with a further R150,000 reportedly promised.
The victim, Sipho Mahlangu, a security guard, was shot twice in the back at a Hyde Park residence where both accused were present.
Both Bellarmine Mugabe and Tobias Matonhodze have since pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including attempted murder, and are now seeking a lenient sentence.
Investigating officer Colonel Raj told the court that the firearm used in the incident has still not been recovered and that the accused failed to cooperate during investigations.
The State is pushing for lengthy prison sentences, arguing that both accused have shown no remorse over the matter.
Sentencing has now been postponed to 29 April as the high-profile case continues to draw public attention.
