A 51-year-old Zimbabwean national, Clifford Nkomo, has appeared before the Gantsi Magistrate Court after being arrested over a large-scale dagga cultivation operation.
The Botswana Police Service reportedly arrested Nkomo at a farm near Gantsi following a public tip-off.
During a search of the premises, police discovered a dagga plantation weighing an estimated 500 kilograms, with a street value of approximately P250,000.
Authorities also recovered multiple sachets of suspected dagga weighing about one kilogram, valued at around P2,600.
Nkomo now faces two charges: unlawful cultivation of plants for narcotic purposes and unlawful possession of illicit substances.
Following his court appearance on 13 April 2026, he was remanded in prison while investigations continue.
He is expected to return to court on 27 April 2026.
