Matrix Private Detectives have apprehended Francis Zhakata, who is accused of allegedly defrauding multiple people through a fraudulent borehole drilling scheme.
Zhakata reportedly operated under a bogus company called Riverine Boreholes, targeting individuals seeking essential water services.
Reports indicate that the total financial loss suffered by victims exceeds US$15,000, after the suspect allegedly disappeared immediately after receiving payments.
For some time, he is said to have evaded capture by giving false information about his whereabouts, even claiming to some victims that he had relocated to South Africa.
His alleged escape came to an end after a coordinated operation by Matrix Private Detectives, who tracked him to a hideout in Glen View.
The suspect was reportedly arrested during an early morning raid before being handed over to police.
He remains in custody and is now assisting law enforcement with further investigations as authorities work to establish the full extent of the alleged scam.
