Zimbabwean socialite Patricia Jack, 35, has been detained in custody following an alleged disorderly conduct incident at Highlands Police Station.
Jack appeared before Harare magistrate Michael Mafukidze, where the court ordered her to remain in custody pending a formal plea recording.
According to the State, the incident began when Jack visited the station late at night to follow up on a friend who had been arrested and was being held in the cells.
Prosecutors allege that what started as an inquiry quickly escalated, with Jack allegedly insulting officers on duty, using vulgar language, and threatening to have them dismissed.
The court also heard claims that she mentioned senior government officials in an attempt to intimidate police officers and allegedly accused some members of accepting bribes.
Authorities say her actions disrupted officers from carrying out their duties and affected the professional image of the police station.
The matter is expected to continue when she returns to court for plea proceedings
