Former Commonwealth flyweight champion Alfonso Zvenyika, popularly known as “Mosquito,” has made a public appeal for financial assistance as he faces a personal crisis.
The retired boxer is seeking support to fund urgent medical treatment for his wife, who has been battling a serious illness since last year. The situation has forced Zvenyika to sell personal assets in an effort to cover mounting hospital expenses.
The strain has been compounded by his own recent illness, adding to the emotional and financial burden on the family.
In a bid to raise funds, Zvenyika has announced plans to undertake a marathon walk from Marondera to the Harare Main Post Office. He hopes the effort will inspire public support and help secure the resources needed for his wife’s medication and upcoming surgeries.
