The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested two young men suspected of leading a series of armed robberies in Beatrice.
The suspects, Conrad Moyo (22) and Milford Sidhakwa (24), were apprehended during a motorized patrol along the Harare–Masvingo Road following robberies that occurred on 5 and 6 March 2026.
Police say the pair were linked to a violent raid at a local bar where a security guard and a bar attendant were assaulted before the suspects fled with cash, mobile phones, and alcohol.
During the arrest, officers recovered 20 smartphones, US$780.00 and ZiG110.00 in cash. Authorities also seized several weapons and tools allegedly used during the robberies, including a machete, an electric shocker, a bolt cutter, and two torches.
Investigators believe the suspects may be connected to at least seven armed robbery cases, including a midnight attack at a Beatrice motel and another robbery at a plot in Rocklands where victims were robbed of cash and mobile devices.
Police confirmed that a third suspect, Shadreck Shava, remains at large. Authorities are appealing to members of the public with information that could lead to his arrest to contact the National Complaints Desk or the nearest police station
