Dubai’s key landmarks — Dubai International Airport and the iconic Burj Al Arab — have sustained minor damage following reported retaliatory attacks linked to rising tensions in the Gulf region.

According to Dubai’s media office, an incident on Sunday resulted in limited damage to a concourse at Dubai International (DXB). Four airport staff members were injured, but authorities confirmed that most passengers had already left the affected area before the strike occurred.

“Dubai Airports confirms that a concourse at Dubai International (DXB) sustained minor damage in an incident, which was quickly contained,” the Dubai Media Office said in a statement shared on X. Emergency response teams were immediately deployed and worked in coordination with relevant authorities to secure the site and ensure passenger safety.

The Burj Al Arab, the sail-shaped luxury hotel often described as one of the most iconic structures in the world, was also impacted. Authorities confirmed that a drone was intercepted, and falling debris caused a minor fire on the hotel’s outer façade. The situation was reportedly brought under control swiftly, with no immediate reports of serious injuries at the hotel.

Officials emphasized that emergency protocols functioned effectively and that operations at key facilities are being managed carefully. Investigations into the incidents are ongoing as regional tensions continue to unfold.

The developments highlight the growing security concerns across the Gulf states amid escalating conflict dynamics in the wider Middle East. Authorities have urged the public to rely on official channels for verified updates as the situation evolves.
