Former Zimbabwe international and Mamelodi Sundowns legend Esrom Nyandoro has officially launched the Esrom Nyandoro Foundation, turning his long-standing charitable work into a structured legacy project.
The foundation aims to support vulnerable children in both Zimbabwe and South Africa, with a strong focus on academic education and athletic development. Its mission is to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent talented and determined young people from reaching their full potential.
A key priority of the initiative is education support. The foundation will pay school fees and provide essential learning materials to children at risk of dropping out due to poverty. Nyandoro recently demonstrated his commitment to this cause by auctioning some of his most prized football jerseys to raise funds for educational bursaries.
In addition to academic assistance, the foundation will promote youth development through sport. Plans include football training programs combined with life skills and mentorship workshops designed to nurture discipline, confidence, and resilience among young people.
With operations spanning Zimbabwe and South Africa, the Esrom Nyandoro Foundation reflects Nyandoro’s roots in Bulawayo and his celebrated football career in South Africa, using sport and education as tools to create lasting positive change in communities.
