Police and army units in Guruve have arrested six men suspected of being part of a violent gang linked to a series of killings, rape cases and robberies that have terrorised communities in the area.
The arrests followed a coordinated security operation involving law enforcement agencies after a spike in serious criminal incidents that left residents living in fear. Authorities say the suspects are believed to be connected to multiple attacks that targeted villagers, businesses and travellers.
Security forces praised the joint operation, saying collaboration between the police and the army was key in tracking down the suspects and restoring calm in the district. Investigations are ongoing as officers work to establish the full extent of the gang’s activities and whether more suspects are still at large.
Community leaders have welcomed the arrests, expressing hope that the operation will bring relief to residents and deter further violent crime in Guruve. Police have urged members of the public to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting suspicious activities as efforts to maintain peace and security continue.
