Dr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei, newly co-opted into the ZANU PF Central Committee, has announced an extensive package of development projects aimed at transforming communities in Hatcliff and Chitungwiza. Speaking during an inter-district meeting, he outlined wide-ranging plans aligned with Vision 2030 and the national goal of ensuring no community is left behind.
One of the major highlights is the construction of a multi-million-dollar commercial complex at PaDust Market in Hatcliff, which is expected to boost the growth of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. He also pledged to build five clinics with maternity wards in Zone 4 to improve healthcare access for local residents.
To address persistent water shortages, Dr. Tagwirei committed to drilling 80 solar-powered boreholes across Chitungwiza, ensuring every household has access to clean and reliable water.
His contributions extended to philanthropy and education, with donations of US$100,000 each to Banket District Hospital—where he was born—and Kuwadzana Primary School, where he attended Grade 1. He also established a US$200,000 revolving fund for ZANU PF wings in Hatcliff Zone 4, with each wing set to receive US$50,000 for empowerment initiatives.
Support for vulnerable groups formed another key part of his pledges. Dr. Tagwirei donated US$25,000 and 20 wheelchairs to persons living with disabilities, helping kickstart income-generating projects. Additionally, his family will distribute more than 12,500 Christmas hampers to assist vulnerable families during the festive season.
Provincial Chairman Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka applauded Dr. Tagwirei’s dedication, especially his recent intervention in settling the medical bills of youth member Cde Shepherd Marime after a road accident.
Overall, the pledges reflect a significant commitment to community upliftment, health development, and economic empowerment.
