The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is facing mounting pressure from civil society organisations and the public following allegations that “Madzibaba,” the husband of popular socialite “Bybit,” may have engaged in statutory abuse.
Concerns erupted after reports circulated suggesting that Bybit was only 15 years old when she allegedly fell pregnant by Madzibaba — an act that would amount to a serious criminal offence under Zimbabwe’s child protection and statutory laws.
The matter gained national attention after ChangeRadio, a prominent social justice platform, publicly tagged and called upon the ZRP to intervene and initiate a full investigation. Activists argue that the allegations cannot be ignored and demand accountability, transparency, and protection of minors.
Civil society groups are urging the police to urgently establish the facts, stating that failure to act would send a dangerous message regarding the safety and rights of young girls in Zimbabwe.
The ZRP has not yet issued an official statement, but pressure continues to build as the story spreads across social media, with many calling for justice and a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the alleged relationship.
The nation now awaits the police response as calls for action grow louder.
