Former Zimbabwe captain Mary-Anne Musonda-Nhira has officially retired from all cricket after a remarkable and trailblazing career.
She has been part of the national cricket setup since 2006 and played more than 100 matches before Zimbabwe Women gained international status.
After international recognition, she went on to feature in 58 T20 Internationals and 16 One Day Internationals, becoming one of the most respected players in Zimbabwe women’s cricket.
Musonda captained the national side from 2018 and made history in 2021 by becoming the first Zimbabwean woman to score an international century with her unbeaten 103 against Ireland.
She said her decision to retire was influenced by timing and the physical demands of the game.
Her retirement marks the end of an era as she leaves behind a powerful legacy as a pioneer who helped shape and grow women’s cricket in Zimbabwe.
