The United States Department of State has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information that could help identify or locate key leaders of Iran’s powerful military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The reward is being offered through the Rewards for Justice program, a US government initiative aimed at gathering intelligence on individuals involved in activities the United States considers terrorism.
According to the announcement, the reward targets senior figures who command and direct different branches of the IRGC. The US government alleges that the organization is responsible for planning, organizing, and carrying out attacks and operations around the world.
The State Department said the IRGC plays a central role in Iran’s foreign strategy, accusing it of supporting and directing various militant groups involved in attacks targeting Americans and US facilities. Authorities say some of these incidents have resulted in the deaths of US citizens.
Established in 1979, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has grown into one of the most powerful institutions in Iran, with influence not only in military operations but also across large sectors of the country’s economy and internal political structures.
Through the reward program, the United States hopes that individuals with credible information will come forward to assist authorities in identifying and tracking senior members of the organization.
Officials say the initiative reflects Washington’s ongoing efforts to counter international terrorism and protect US interests and citizens worldwide.
