Zimbabwe has become the first team at the T20 World Cup to be affected by the closure of airspace in West Asia following their final match against South Africa on Sunday.
Tournament organizers are now exploring alternative travel routes for the Zimbabwe squad and other teams impacted by the disruption. Until new arrangements are confirmed, the team will remain in Delhi at least until March 4.
Originally, players were scheduled to return home in stages, with some departing as early as 4:30 AM on Monday. They were booked on Emirates flights via Dubai before continuing on to Harare.
With several routes now unavailable, alternative airlines and travel plans are under review while the team continues to stay at their hotel in Delhi.
